Natrona County High School began a major renovation in the fall of 2014. Part of the remodel included a major restoration of the John F. Welsh Auditorium. In order to assure the Auditorium met the 21st Century needs of students and community alike $350,000 in private funding– barely 0.3 percent of the total project – was needed to complete the project. Renovation plans included improved lighting and sound systems, a black box theater for students (to be located in Mr. Welsh’s former classroom), and two hydraulic lifts to expand the functionality of the stage. These additions enhance student theater and musical productions as well as performances by community organizations like ARTCORE and the Wyoming Symphony Orchestra.
